The Florida Council for History Education is now accepting applications for a $500 student scholarship opportunity. The recipient of this award must ne a high school senior or a colleage student pursuing a degree in education or history/social science who intends to teach history/civics.
Applicants must be formally admitted inhto a Florida college or uuniversity. To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit the following:
a 500 - 1500 word essay responding to the following: How will your role in history/social science education influence history? Essays shgould include a heading with the applicant's name, phone number, and email address. The essay should be saved as a PDF.
A copy of the admissions letter from a Florida college or university

Submissions should be uploaded to the web site under student scholarship opportunities by June first, two thousand and twenty three. The scholarship winner's essay will be published in the October issue of In context, our bi annual publication.
